When you are not a rich person but aspire to become one, you are driven by sheer ambition. Elena Dietrich was one person who had, more than anything else, a fierce determination to get out of the less affluent society she was born into in Berlin.
In her own words, God may have had her born in a fairly unsavory an environment but He had more than compensated for it by giving her the looks and the smarts to become an achiever. Elena met Col. Belliappa when he reached Berlin on behalf of his armaments firm. She worked for one too and their business partnership grew into a love affair and later his second marriage.
