I must say that, although inadvertently I am sure, we often underestimate the intelligence of our readers by stressing the obvious.
Sometimes we describe a scene in far too much detail. Sometimes we wander away from the central point as we over-describe a situation or a person.
The challenge for most of us is to be concise where required. As is well-known, it is extremely difficult to be concise and relatively easy to ramble on and on. I hope I am not guilty of that just now!
