“Why have you described your novel as a “psychological thriller?” I was asked recently by a friend on seeing this site. As you know, the larger thriller genre itself is vast and has several sub-genres, one of which is the psychological thriller.
Here, typically characters plot and scheme to resolve their conflicts and overcome their opponents based on their intelligence and mental prowess rather than their physical strength.
Another common dimension of the psychological thriller is that the characters invariably have to battle the devils within themselves in one form or the other.
In “It Can’t Be You”, I have attempted to bring out this aspect in almost all the characters.
