Of Tablets and eReaders

I found this article by Josh Smith in GottaBeMobile quite interesting. I like the saucy title ” Tablets Are From Mars etc” and the information provided on the latest trends in the tablet/ereader space. What caught my attention too was the mention of the fact that women read more books than men, 9 books per year as against 5 read by men.

Why should authors be interested in information about tablets and ereaders? These are trends that are paving the way for an entirely different manner in which people approach books and reading. Publishers and authors alike would do well to re-orient themselves to accept the reality that these gadgets and gizmos are here to stay!

  1. Interesting stuff. I’m a guy, I’ve had a Kindle for years and don’t have a tablet yet, though I’ve really got my eye on the eee Transformer pad (a Droid tablet that converts into a laptop by docking with a keyboard.) But then, I’m a gadget collector and often buck the trends.

    Thanks for sharing!
