Project 3 is the name I have given for my as yet unnamed book project. My debut novel “It Can’t Be You” was published in November 2010. It is a psychological thriller. The second book I am working on is called “Lucky For Some, Thirteen”. I hope to have this published towards the end of 2011.

I am nuts about the thriller genre. Having enjoyed them over the years, I had made up my mind that if and when I take to writing, I should write thrillers! It was quite natural therefore that my debut novel “It Can’t Be You” was a psychological thriller.
Yes, you have the hero and the heroine and a few other supporting characters. But what about the minor characters, who make relatively smaller appearances but do add to the flavour of your story? Continue reading “Minor Characters”
A few flashes from the past yesterday led me to think of trying to capture who might have, if at all, influenced the characters in It Can’t Be You. This is by no means a comprehensive list. It’s more a collection of thoughts as they came by. Here goes…”Reggie” Rege perhaps came from a Col. Rege who I knew in the early 70’s. One of my School friends, an Old Lawrencian served in his Regiment.
The book is out. It receives all kinds of reviews, mostly favorable, thank God, and work begins on the second edition. A few things rush to my mind as I contemplate changes that need to be made in the next edition of my psychological thriller “It Can’t Be You”. It could be in a few weeks time or even in a few months time but the changes must be made.
My thanks go out to Shashank Sinha for his recent review of It Can’t Be You in it’s Facebook Page. He writes with a different slant – on the psychology of the individual- and I would like to share his review here.
Many who have succeeded in whatever they did, have to admit that they learnt their lessons from others. The same applies, fortunately , to writing as well. If you want to be a writer have a look at this list put together by Richard Nordquist in About.com.
The Deccan Chronicle of January 22, 2011 carried an article on It Can’t Be You. I am glad it was described as a “must read”.
I must clarify that I am probably the first person from out of India to have a debut novel published from a debut effort in NaNoWriMo. This probably has been done by others abroad.
