Protagonists & Antagonists

I wonder what your opinion is but I don’t like clear distinctions between protagonists and antagonists. I say so because like in many other aspects of life, these are not clearly demarcated in black and white.

As far as I am concerned, every protagonist has some elements of the antagonist in him/her- just as every antagonist has some elements of the protagonist! I have raised this question for discussion in Pat Bertram’s Facebook Page “Suspense/Thriller Writers”.
