Yay! I have just finished NaNoWriMo 2010 having reached 50,000 words for my novel “Lucky For Some, Thirteen”. I recognize that the novel is far from being complete though I have much to celebrate about. I have finished the first step- that of writing the foundation of the novel. Typically, novels in the genre I write in of thrillers/mysteries should be of at least 70,000-80,000 words.
What next then? Loads of work to be done in revising and editing the novel. I had this in my mind when by chance I came upon this articles called ” Writing To Be Read” (which by co-incidence is the name of this my writing blog) in The World Wide You a site with internet resources and strategies for writers.
One part of the journey is over. Another begins.
Congrats on reaching 50k! And good luck on the long long editing process.
Thanks, Jamie. The tough part begins….
