Jeffrey, Lord Archer

Jeffrey, Lord Archer really needs no introduction. I had the privilege of meeting him when he was in Bangalore recently for the launch of his new book ” Only Time Will Tell”. There was a huge crowd at Reliance TimeOut that evening. This is part of his whirlwind tour that takes him to 16 cities in 5 countries in 4 weeks.

I was most impressed by his wit, his being so articulate and he was brutally honest. Even about his days in prison.

Key takeaways: Writing is hard work. He explained the grueling schedule he follows. I guess it pays to have some kind of schedule to get the best out of you.

There is a big difference between a mere writer and a story-teller. He urged all writers to become true story- tellers.

It was a very proud moment for me when I presented Lord Archer with a copy of my debut novel “It Can’t Be You”. Will he read it? Will I have the privilege of hearing from him? Will I develop to become a story-teller?

As Lord Archer said “Only Time Will Tell”.
