The sheer diversity of blogs never ceases to amaze me. Be it in terms of content, writing style, the visual appeal or almost anything else, you will find a delightful range of blogs on writing, on books and on matters literary. Today, I invite you to join me as I point you to a few blogs that have recently caught my attention.Becca Puglisi writes on “Creative Types” in The Bookshelf Muse, where she and Angela Ackerman write about writing! I like the way Becca has analyzed creative types, dwelling on both their positives and negatives. You don’t have to be a long-bearded unkempt guy to be called creative, you know. Angela and Becca have co-authored “The Emotion Thesaurus” which they call a writer’s guide to character expression. Writing about characters needs a good bit of research to get them down pat. They will then become all the more credible. If you want Becca or Angela to post in your blog or you wish to post in theirs, you may like to see their guidelines.
If, like me, you are keen on writing about crime or reading the best books on the subject, you would do well to visit the Crime Fiction Dossier. Here, the very experienced David J. Montgomery has the latest on books, authors and publishing. David is an emeritus columnist for the Chicago Sun-Times and brings all his experience and expertise to bear on the reviews of the latest books. What I found particularly informative was David’s tips on writing. Well worth a read.
More interesting blogs, next week. Do share some of your favorite blogs on writing.
