I have always maintained that writing a synopsis was far more difficult than writing the entire story. Yet it is undisputed that without a snappy synopsis, you are unlikely to go anywhere with that book you have painstakingly written for months or years. Is there a formula for success? Can this difficult task be made any easier?
Thriller writer Mike Wells has some good tips in his “The Green Water Blog. “
It’s strange but often the success of your book depends on seemingly trivial things like the synopsis. It’s hugely important. Work hard at making a wonderful synopsis which will grab the attention of your agent and your reader.
Without a well-crafted synopsis, your book project could sink without a trace.
