Here’s this article in DNA by Priyanka Golikeri which speaks of how ebooks will over time be the next big thing in publishing in India. The market in India is still nascent at less than 1% of a Rs. 10,000 crore book publishing industry.
I have been an avid fan of the National Novel Writing Month or NaNoWriMo as it is popularly called since I first took part in this annual writing competition in 2009. After that I have successfully completed NaNo, for short, in 2010, 2011 and more recently in 2012. In essence, this means I have written 50,000 words every November for what we call our NaNoNovel, for the last four years on the trot. Continue reading “Editing Your Manuscript”

I could feel the tension ease palpably as the book launch function of my second thriller, “Lucky For Some, 13” came to an end recently. It was also the time to summarize a few key learnings which might be of use to budding writers, if not to other writers. “Writing a 87,000 + word novel is pretty easy, its writing the less than 200 word back cover copy that is tough,” I quipped. There’s a lot of truth in what I said. Ask any author.
Till now the focus was arranging for the book launch for my second thriller, “Lucky For Some, 13.” In today’s abbreviated language, I hear it being called, “LFS13.” I am so glad the book launch went off very well. It was held on December 1, 2012 at Reliance TimeOut in Mantri Square. The first copy of the book was presented by Mr. Bijou Kurien, President & CEO, Lifestyle, Reliance Retail to Mr. & Mrs. K. Unnikrishnan, the Guests of Honour. You may like to see the pictures of the book launch here. Continue reading “LFS 13 Launched!”
