Better late than never! I am very excited to have signed on for Camp NaNoWriMo. This is, so to say, like a dry run for the NaNoWriMo which takes place in November each year. I wasn’t following NaNo too closely for the last few months and in any case I was on vacation in the US, so I seemed to have missed the early announcements about Camp NaNoWriMo.
I saw the website thanks to a tweet only on August 4. The hashtag #CampNaNoWriMo showed me the progress made by many other participants as The Camp had kicked off on August 1. The goal-complete a novel of 50,000 words by the end of the calendar month of August 2011. I didn’t hesitate for too long. I signed on and started on what I had earlier called Project 4, a mystery/thriller/suspense novel tentatively titled “Let The Dead Stay Dead”.
I haven’t done much yet, I must confess. The first day’s output was only 1829 words. As you can imagine, I have a lot of catching up to do, but that should make it all the more interesting!
