Interesting Links

A confirmed web surfer, I am always on the hunt for things that may help me improve my writing.  Here are a few things which caught my attention over the last week:

  • “The Emotion Thesaurus” by Angela Ackerman and Becca Puglisi is an interesting dive into what are the giveaways when people express emotions. Designed for the writer to be factually correct when he/she captures the moods of their characters, and writes about their body language and mannerisms, this book is truly one of its kind. A must for the book shelf of every serious writer.

  • Writing a short story is an amazing experience. I must add that it very difficult to write a good short story. In this context, I was delighted to come across this link ( thanks to Jon Winokur’s Tweet). I must spend time relishing these stories at leisure. “The 50 Best Short Stories  Of All Time”
  • Want to improve your writing? Who doesn’t? Check out these tips shared by Kristen Lamb in her blog titled, what else but ” Kristen Lamb’s Blog.” By the way, I follow her tweets and find them to be pretty useful too.
  • Do you use a ” book journal”? Or a “hold file”? If you don’t, you might like to start using them now. Charlotte Rains Dixon tells you why.
